The Favors Kick Off Spooky Season at Hollywood Forever
There’s no better way to kick off spooky season than a rock show in a cemetery, and The Favors knew exactly how to set the tone. On September 18th, they launched both their debut album, The Dream, and their US tour, turning the historic grounds into a pulsing celebration of music, community, and fandom.
The night opened with jazzy house beats floating through the cemetery grounds before the ticking countdown to 9 pm, aka the official release of The Dream. The Favors were powering through the first half of their new tracks, and the crowd was fully locked in and singing along like they’d known the songs for years.
Highlights came one after another: Finneas taking the mic for a fitting rendition of “Hollywood Forever,” Ashe commanding the stage with “Another Man’s Jeans,” and drummer David Marinelli picking up guitar and vocals while Finneas jumped on drums for the first live performance of “Someday I’ll Be Back in Hollywood.”
The energy never wavered. From teasing the crowd for it being their first ever Favors show (this was infact The Favors’ first Favors show) to sending love from the stage all the way to the back, and trading solos with seamless chemistry, The Favors reminded the crowd that while rock never really left, it was undeniably alive and well.
Closing with “Till Forever Falls Apart,” while hitting a soaring high note from atop the piano, the evening ended in a final, cinematic moment that lingered as fans drifted out into the night.
Moral of the story? Rock isn’t back. It never left. Catch The Favors in New York and Texas next month and listen to The Dream front to back, back to front, on shuffle and on shuffle again.
