After a month-long wait, Boston’s divas finally got the night they had been dreaming about. ROLE MODEL — the stage name of Tucker Pillsbury — returned to MGM Music Hall on April 23, and the atmosphere was nothing short of electric. From the moment doors opened, it was clear that this wasn’t just another concert: it was a full-blown celebration. Especially considering Pillsbury is a native of Maine, explaining one of the signs reading “New England Born and Raised” which was signed by divas.

The show started later than planned — simply because so many divas packed into the venue, eager to get as close as possible to the stage. Fans came armed with handmade signs, custom jackets, and thoughtful gifts, creating a pit that felt more like a reunion of best friends than a concert crowd. The buzz of excitement was tangible, and if anything, the delay only made the energy more explosive when Role Model finally appeared.

“I made it home baby. I made it home!” Role Model said with a cheeky smile who dove into a setlist that blended old favorites with newer material from his sophomore album Kansas Anymore album. Tracks like “Oh Gemini” and "Scumbag" showcased his signature mix of charm and vulnerability, with the crowd singing back every lyric at top volume.

But the most special awaited moment of the night came during "Sally, When the Wine Runs Out." A very important guest joined him on stage: his mom. The audience erupted with cheers as she joined him for the much-anticipated track. The two danced adorably before the night closed out with “Deeply Still in Love.”

Throughout the show, Pillsbury was deeply present with the crowd, at one point pausing to comment “This is now a perfect ending to ‘No Place Like Tour. I wouldn’t want to spend it anywhere else.”
