At a very special stop on her 2026 tour, Lucy Dacus brought her first-ever show with a full orchestra to Chicago’s Jay Pritzker Pavilion at Millennium Park - featuring the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra. The show was a family affair - with Lucy’s Mom growing up in Illinois, her aunt playing in the orchestra, and her violinist Phoenix Rousiamani preparing all of the arrangements - the pseudo-hometown nature of the show made the night even more fantastical.

The show opened with a live arrangement of “Calliope Prelude” before transitioning into “Hot and Heavy,” a fan-favorite track from her album Home Video. The set list featured songs from all throughout Dacus’ vast discography - including arrangements from her newest album Forever Is A Feeling.

In true Lucy Dacus fashion, she brought out her couch, featuring an acoustic set with her band which took us chronologically through her discography - starting with “Trust” from No Burden, ending with “Best Guess,” from the aforementioned Forever Is A Feeling, and even including “Afraid of Heights” from boygenius’ The Rest. 

The final portion of the set was back with the CPO, featuring a “finale” of “Forever Is A Feeling,” with a beautiful arrangement with a sweeping woodwind section. Before officially finishing off the show, she came back with a near therapeutic encore of “Night Shift” and “Historians.”

While Lucy’s arrangements with the CPO were new, to longtime fans it truly felt like her vision of her music was fully realized. Lucy Dacus is not one to miss - and, if you weren’t able to see her with the Chicago Philharmonic Orchestra - you still have a chance to see her this September with the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra and all across North America this summer.
